Oil prices fall after rally
- Profit-taking comes after record surge due to “short squeeze”
NEW YORK—Oil prices swung lower Tuesday, falling to nearly $107 a barrel as traders cashed in profits a day after cude rocketed to its biggest one-day gain ever, an epic rally apparently triggered in part by a technical fluke.
Still oil market investors remain edgy as officials in Washington has out details for a $700 billion plan aimed at rescuing aimed at rescuing the teetering U.S. financial system and averting an economic collapse. Investors are worried that the massive borrowing, a move that could depress the dollar and spark another commodities bull run.
