What is so-called "toastmaster"?


Here comes the definition of "toast" from the Oxford Dictionary :

to lift a glass of wine, etc. in the air and drink it at the same 
time as other people in order to wish sb/sth success, happiness, etc.: 

也就是在某種宴會、慶祝的場合
某人舉起酒杯，說些祝福or發表些言談後
大家舉杯敬酒


然而其重點不是在於喝酒
而是那個舉起酒杯的人 通常會說一些什麼話


Toastmaster這個club的存在意義
是提供對英文有興趣或對自我成長有所期許的人
提高自我肯定的信心、促進英語聽說讀寫的能力
培養成為領導人所需要的條件
促進溝通的技巧、與人際關係


說了這麼多
